Provide one-on-one behavioral support to a preschool student to help them engage in daily routines and classroom activities. Collaborate with the lead teacher to implement intervention strategies and ensure a safe, inclusive learning environment.
We're looking for a caring and enthusiastic Behavior Assistant to join our Junior Explorers preschool team, working with 3-5 year olds for the 2026-2027 school year! In this role, you'll work one-on-one with a child who needs extra support to engage in daily routines and activities. You'll help create a positive, inclusive classroom experience that allows every child to thrive.

Your Role Will Include: Provide one-on-one support to a student identified as having difficulty participating in daily activities.
Assist the student with supervision during transitions, large and small group activities, and unstructured play.
Model appropriate intervention strategies and reinforce positive behavior and social skills.
Collaborate with the lead teacher and classroom team to ensure the safety and success of all children.
Assist with creating an engaging and inclusive learning experience for all children.
Background in early childhood or classroom support. (Preferred) Experience working with children with special needs or behavior challenges. Experience supporting student instruction in the classroom. (Preferred) Proven positive human relations skills with adults and students. Demonstrated ability to take direction and work as a team member and take initiative. Evidence of a friendly, outgoing, patient, and compassionate personality. Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality, punctuality, and responsibility. Ability to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, 20 pounds frequently, and 10 pounds constantly to move objects. Salary and Benefits: Starting at $22.60 per hour. Medical and dental benefits eligible. Location & Shift Times: Minnetonka Community Education Center (MCEC). Monday through Thursday, 11:00 AM to 5:30 PM. Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM.
