About the role

Support youth of various ages through arts, STEM, and recreational activities to foster social and academic growth. Provide guidance and supervision to children of migrant and refugee families while their parents attend ESL classes.

You will be able to directly support migrant and refugee families who are building new lives in our community.

By offering educational support and enrichment, you help children grow socially, emotionally, and academically while giving parents the opportunity to learn English.

  • Mondays, 5:15–8:30 PM We are seeking dedicated adult volunteers (18+) to support our weekly play group for toddlers and preschoolers and enrichment programs for elementary, middle, and high school aged youth, while parents attend ESL classes on Monday evenings. Volunteers will help create a safe, welcoming, and enriching environment for the children. Role Responsibilities Assist with arts, STEM, recreational activities and games, and other age-appropriate programming Foster curiosity and teamwork Support youth in developing interpersonal skills and confidence Provide guidance, encouragement, and supervision during structured activities Help maintain a positive, inclusive atmosphere for all participants Work collaboratively with staff and other volunteers Comfortable working with children and youth from diverse cultural backgrounds

Training will be provided.

Requirements

You must be at least 18 years old. As part of our commitment to safety, a CORI (Criminal Offender Record Information) and national background check will be conducted, which includes a review of the sex offender registry and verification of social security number. The process includes an interview, reference checks and 1.5 hours of online training. We look forward to meeting you!
