Job Description

The University of Northern Iowa's Department of Mathematics seeks applications for a temporary Assistant Adjunct Professor, starting in October 2026. This position will teach ELSPED 4118-61 Differentiating Math for All Students and Differentiation Practicum. This course is scheduled for the second half of the Fall 2026 semester (10/19/2026 to 12/18/2026) on Wednesday evenings from 5:30 - 8:30 and will have two Super Saturdays that run from 9-12 and 1-4. This position involves working with a team consisting of another faculty member and two field supervisors. The course focuses on differentiated instruction and methods of math teaching. The course covers math teaching methodology and draws its content from the MATH 3204 methods course. The successful candidate will co-plan with the instructor teaching the differentiation component. Required Qualifications: Master's degree in Math Education or a related field plus experience working in K-8 education required.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience supporting special education students in math preferred.
