  • Title: Brookwood Special Friends Childcare Team Member About This Role The Brookwood Special Friends Childcare Team Member provides a loving, Christ-centered, safe, and engaging environment for special needs children while parents participate in church activities and events. This role helps create a welcoming atmosphere where special needs children feel valued, cared for, and introduced to God's love through play and meaningful relationships. As a member of the Brookwood Special Friends Childcare team, you will work alongside other caregivers to ensure every special needs child is safe, known, and loved while supporting the mission and values of Brookwood Church. What You'll Do Create a safe, loving, and nurturing environment for every special needs child. Build positive relationships with special needs children and their families by warmly welcoming them at drop-off and pickup. Encourage positive behavior by lovingly redirecting special needs children and communicating concerns with the Special Friends Childcare Supervisor. Maintain constant supervision to ensure the safety and well-being of every special needs child in your care. Assist Special Friends with bathroom needs. Some diaper changing may be required.
  • Maintain a clean, organized classroom by: Sweeping floors Disinfecting tables and countertops Sanitizing toys and play equipment Cleaning mats Removing trash at the end of each shift Complete accident reports when necessary and communicate incidents with supervisors and parents. Follow all Special Friends policies, procedures, and safety guidelines. Serve as a positive Christian role model through your words, actions, and attitude. Attend work consistently and reliably according to the assigned schedule. What Success Looks Like Special Needs Children feel safe, loved, and excited to return each week. Families experience a welcoming and caring environment. Classrooms remain clean, organized, and prepared for every shift. Safety procedures are consistently followed. Team members work together to create a positive environment for special needs children and families. Parents trust the special friends childcare team to care for their special needs child with excellence. Who You Are (Skills & Traits) Loves Special Needs Friends and enjoys helping them learn and grow. Patient, kind, and nurturing. Dependable with a strong work ethic. Team-oriented and willing to serve wherever needed. Maintains a positive attitude during busy or challenging situations. Communicates well with parents, Special needs children, and fellow team members. Demonstrates integrity and represents Brookwood Church well. What You Bring (Qualifications) At least 16 years of age. Reliable transportation. Ability to work well with Special Needs of varying ages. Willingness to live a lifestyle that is Christ-honoring and above reproach. Willingness to submit to the accountability standards of Brookwood Church. Ability to follow directions and work under the supervision of the Special Friends Childcare Supervisor.
