• Category: Educationob Description – BuffSci Support Teacher A BuffSci Support Teacher provides academic, behavioral, and instructional support to students while collaborating with classroom teachers to create a positive and inclusive learning environment. This role focuses on helping students meet academic standards, develop social-emotional skills, and achieve individual learning goals.
• Key
• Responsibilities: Provide small-group and one-on-one instructional support in reading, math, science, and other core subject areas. Assist classroom teachers in planning, implementing, and differentiating lessons to meet diverse student needs. Support students with academic interventions and individualized learning plans. Monitor student progress, collect data, and maintain accurate records of academic and behavioral performance. Reinforce positive behavior expectations and implement classroom management strategies. Collaborate with teachers, administrators, counselors, and families to support student success. Assist with classroom organization, instructional materials, and educational technology. Supervise students during transitions, lunch, recess, field trips, and other school activities as needed. Foster a safe, respectful, and engaging learning environment that promotes student growth and achievement. Participate in professional development, staff meetings, and school-wide initiatives.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field (or as required by the district). New York State teaching certification (preferred or required, depending on the position). Experience working with elementary or secondary students in a classroom setting. Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills. Ability to differentiate instruction and build positive relationships with students from diverse backgrounds.
