About the role

Provide safe, nurturing, and trauma-informed childcare for infants and children of mothers in the PWWDC Program. Support developmental growth and maintain a clean environment to allow mothers to participate in recovery and treatment services.

PROGRAM: MOMS Care Coordination Pathway for Pregnant Women and Women with Dependent Children (PWWDC)

Position Title: Childcare Provider

Reports to: Program Director

JOB TYPE: Full-Time

SUMMARY

The Childcare Provider delivers safe, nurturing, trauma-informed childcare services to the infants and young children of mothers enrolled in the PWWDC Program. This role allows mothers to fully participate in treatment, recovery support, parenting groups, counseling sessions, and case management by providing reliable, developmentally appropriate care for their children.

The position emphasizes child safety, early bonding, developmental support, and family stabilization in alignment with the PWWDC Program’s goals to keep families intact and reduce the impact of maternal substance use, stress, trauma, and behavioral health risk factors.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct supervision and compassionate care for infants and children (typically ages (0-5) while mothers participate in Program services.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, child-friendly environment consistent with state childcare licensing, program policies, and trauma-informed practice.
  • Support age-appropriate play, sensory activities, and social-emotional development.
  • Ensure safe feeding, diapering, toileting, and hygiene practices.
  • Monitor for developmental concerns or safety risks and report observations to supervisors.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
  • Minimum 1 year of experience working with infants or young children in a childcare, early childhood, or family-support setting.
  • Ability to lift/carry young children and equipment (up to 30lbs).
  • First Aid/CPR certification (or ability to obtain within 60 days).
  • Ability to pass background checks required for childcare and family programs.
