CCS has been serving Christian families in the Chattanooga area since 1970 and currently enrolls 1,550+ students in the Lower School (Preschool -5), Middle School (6-8), and High School (9-12).   • PURPOSE/FUNCTION: Assists teachers in Pre-K through 2nd grade with the instruction and care of students. ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES Works with early childhood students in a variety of settings. Assists with addressing student behavior to increase student independence in the classroom. Maintains confidentiality for students at CCS. Works under a licensed teacher to implement lessons for a variety of academic subjects. Helps with administrative duties as needed. Communicates clearly through speaking and writing. Facilitates positive social exchanges for students with disabilities and students who are typically developing. QualificationsQUALIFICATIONS Personal faith in Jesus Christ and a commitment to the mission of Chattanooga Christian School. Ability to work well with children across a variety of settings. Proficient with a range of technology. Character, call, and availability to fulfill needs of job description. Highly motivated and able to work collaboratively. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. Ability to problem-solve and think creatively. Ability to exercise discretion and utmost professionalism in confidential and sensitive student matters. PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. This is a role that requires standing, walking, running, sitting, squatting, and jumping for a significant amount of time each day. The employee may need to physically support students and should have no health issues which would prevent assisting a student getting in and out of a chair.

Requirements

Requires a high school education and a personal faith in Jesus Christ. Candidates must possess strong communication skills, the ability to work collaboratively with children, and the physical capability to support students.
