  • Details: General Notes The University of Texas at Austin's newly established School of Computing is seeking a Human Resources Coordinator to support one of the nation's premier computing organizations. The School encompasses three departments, serves more than 6,500 students, and is consistently recognized among the nation's top programs by U.S. News & World Report. As a hub for world-class education and research in computer science, information, statistics, and data science, the School partners closely with Austin's vibrant technology ecosystem and is advancing innovation in areas such as artificial intelligence, robotics, quantum computing, and cybersecurity. Purpose In this role, you will provide comprehensive human resources support throughout the employee lifecycle for faculty, staff, and student employees across the School of Computing, with a primary focus on the Department of Computer Science. This is an excellent opportunity for an HR professional who enjoys working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. The Human Resource Coordinator applies best practices, professional acumen, and excellent customer service in all HR functional areas. Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis for any employer.

Responsibilities

Work closely with the Senior HR Coordinator and members of the Finance and Administration team to support the full employment lifecycle and provide comprehensive human resources support to faculty, students, and staff. Coordinate recruitment, hiring, changes in employment, and separations. This position will have primary responsibility for student employment and will assist with staff and faculty HR tasks as needed. Process pre-employment authorizations, coordinate and ensure I-9 compliance, and track and respond to student eligibility requirements. Act as a timekeeper, ensuring compliance with payroll deadlines and university and department policies. Backup for the Sr. Human Resources Coordinator Collaborate with other departments, the College of Natural Sciences and UT central HR offices, Payroll Services, and other related offices for related human resource functions. Other duties as assigned. Required Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree and at least two years of progressively responsible experience in human resources or a related field. Demonstrated ability to work both independently and collaboratively in fast-paced, team-oriented environment while providing exceptional customer service. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with and support a faculty, staff, and students. Proven ability to manage multiple priorities, balance a high volume workload, and adapt to changing priorities while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail. Strong customer service orientation with a commitment to providing responsive, professional, and solution-focused support to both internal and external customers. Ability to exercise sound judgment, maintain discretion, and handle sensitive and confidential information with the highest level of professionalism. Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.

Preferred Qualifications

Demonstrated knowledge of Workday and University of Texas employment policies. Previous experience in a higher education setting working closely with faculty and graduate students. Ability to anticipate the needs of the department proactively and develop workflows to streamline processes. Demonstrated proficiency with Excel, data tracking tools Professional Human Resources certification or other demonstrated commitment to continued professional development the human resources field

Salary Range
