Description Psychosocial Rehabilitation (PSR) Specialist

Join our dedicated team at Emory Valley Center as a Psychosocial Rehabilitation (PSR) Specialist, where you will play a vital role in supporting adults with dual diagnoses of intellectual and/or developmental disabilities (IDD) and co-occurring mental health conditions. Key Responsibilities

  • Facilitate group and individual support services tailored to the needs of adults with dual diagnoses
  • Develop and implement therapeutic programming that fosters recovery, social skills, emotional regulation, and independence
  • Utilize a holistic, strengths-based approach aligned with person-centered thinking and recovery principles
  • Collaborate closely with an interdisciplinary team to coordinate care and ensure services reflect individual preferences and goals
  • Promote autonomy and respect for clients’ choices while supporting their progress toward functional living
  • Maintain accurate documentation of services, progress notes, and treatment plans in compliance with organizational policies
  • Engage with clients, families, and community resources to support ongoing recovery and social integration

Requirements

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in a human services field such as special education, social work, recreational therapy, psychology, or counseling, or actively pursuing such a degree. Prior experience working with individuals diagnosed with an intellectual or developmental disability is preferred. Experience with group therapy formats is advantageous. Valid Tennessee driver’s license with a good driving record. Ability to work flexible hours, including occasional after-hours work and travel. Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team. Compassionate, patient, and dedicated to supporting individuals with diverse needs.
