Provide sign language interpreting services for students who are deaf or hard of hearing in educational settings Facilitate effective communication between students, teachers, staff, peers, and families as appropriate Interpret classroom instruction, school activities, meetings, and other educational events Maintain confidentiality and adhere to professional ethics and standards of practice Collaborate with teachers, special education staff, and related service providers to support student success Promote student independence while ensuring equal access to instruction and school activities Participate in team meetings and professional development as appropriate
Candidates must have an EIPA score meeting Washington State requirements and a valid Washington State Educational Staff Associate (ESA) Certificate. Proficiency in ASL and strong interpersonal skills are required.
