About the role

Manage and deliver youth development programming focused on academic enrichment and remedial education. Oversee student learning plans and perform diagnostic evaluations to ensure academic success.

Position summary

Manage and deliver youth development programming provided in the Academic Success Initiative of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Tampa Bay.

Job responsibilities

  • Oversee the successful operations of services, specifically focused on academic enrichment and remedial education.
  • Plans and implements education programs, activities and services that meet Sunshine State Standards. Develop programs that are gender inclusive and sensitive to cultural diversity.
  • Monitoring tutoring sessions to ensure all students are in accordance with what is stated on their Student Learning Plan (SLP). Ensure activities follow all policies and procedures.
  • Communicates and enforces organizational policies, procedures and standards regarding program delivery, quality and fidelity. Provides administrative and logistical support for educational programs.
  • Perform diagnostic evaluation of participating youth.
  • Complete Student Learning Plans and communicate with schools regarding performance.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Relationships

• Internal:

  • Maintains close, daily contact with Club Staff (professional, part-time and volunteers), Club members, and supervisor to receive/provide information, discuss issues, explain guidelines/instructions; instruct; and/or advise/counsel.
  • External:

Maintains contact with external community groups, schools, members’ parents and others to assist in developing positive relationships and resolving problems.

Qualifications

  • BA/BS Degree from an accredited, four-year university or college in a field related to education. State of Florida Teachers Certificate required.
  • 3-5 years teaching experience.
  • Demonstrated experience and ability to work collaboratively with partners and schools.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and communication skills.
  • Ability to meet deadlines with severe time constraints.
  • Able to maintain strict confidentiality.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
  • Knowledge of the mission, objectives, policies, programs and procedures of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Tampa Bay; and the principles and practices of non-profit organizations.

TRAVEL

Travel may be required to multiple Club facilities throughout Hillsborough, Pasco and Pinellas County for training and/or other business purposes.

Requirements
