How this role contributes to the Y's mission: As a Program Specialist, Social Emotional Learning, you'll help students build the confidence, resilience, and skills they need to succeed in school and in life.

Working directly within assigned schools, you'll partner with educators, families, and community organizations to provide individualized support, strengthen school engagement, and connect students with the resources they need to thrive.

Through relationship building, case management, and collaboration, you'll help create safe, inclusive learning environments where every child has the opportunity to reach their full potential.

This work is right for you if you have: A passion for empowering youth and helping students overcome barriers to success.

The ability to build meaningful relationships with students, families, educators, and community partners.

Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills with the ability to exercise sound judgment and maintain confidentiality.

At least two years of experience in education, youth development, behavioral health, counseling, case management, social work, or a related human services field.

Experience coordinating services, supporting student success, and collaborating with schools and community organizations.

Knowledge of social-emotional learning, trauma-informed practices, or youth development (preferred).

A bachelor's degree in Education, Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, Human Services, Sociology, or a related field (preferred) All Y associates agree to abide by The Code of Conduct with Youth that sets clear expectations for associates and volunteers to ensure a safe and respectful environment for young people.

It emphasizes treating youth with respect and fairness, avoiding inappropriate physical or verbal interactions, and adhering to established standards of affection.

The policy strictly prohibits any form of abuse, bullying, or harassment and mandates the reporting of suspected mistreatment.

Additionally, associates and volunteers must complete training on child abuse prevention and comply with legal reporting requirements to safeguard youth.

Requirements

Candidates need at least two years of experience in education, behavioral health, or social work. A bachelor's degree in a related field and knowledge of trauma-informed practices are preferred.
