The Classroom Paraprofessional supports the classroom teacher in providing a safe, nurturing, and academically supportive learning environment for all students. The paraprofessional works collaboratively with the classroom teacher to assist with instruction, student supervision, classroom management, and the individual needs of students. Assist the classroom teacher with daily classroom activities and instructional support. Work with individual students or small groups of students to reinforce academic skills and concepts. Provide support for students who may require additional academic, behavioral, or organizational assistance. Assist students in following classroom routines, directions, and expectations. Support the implementation of student accommodations and individualized learning plans as directed by the classroom teacher and administration. Assist with classroom management and help maintain a positive, respectful, and orderly learning environment. Supervise students during classroom activities, transitions, lunch, recess, arrival, dismissal, field trips, and other school activities as assigned. Assist with preparing classroom materials, organizing resources, and maintaining a clean and orderly classroom environment. Monitor student work and provide feedback to the classroom teacher regarding student progress, needs, or concerns. Communicate professionally and appropriately with students, teachers, administrators, and families. Maintain confidentiality regarding student information and school matters. Follow all school policies, procedures, safety protocols, and diocesan guidelines. Support the Catholic mission and values of St. James Catholic School by modeling kindness, respect, responsibility, and Christian behavior. Perform other duties as assigned by the principal or classroom teacher.
