About the role

The Behavior Specialist will implement the student code of conduct, analyze behavioral data, and develop corrective plans for students. They will also collaborate with teachers, counselors, and administrators to foster a respectful and professional school environment.

Description SANY’s Utica Academy of Science Charter School is excited to announce the opening of a Behavior Specialist role for Junior-Senior High School (Grades 6-12).

We have a great environment for new staff, and we encourage you to apply!

We need a professional who will

· Consistently implement our code of conduct. · Train and educate all stakeholders about the implementation of the student code of conduct. · Be visible and accessible to the students and staff. · Analyze data to identify trends in behavior, make necessary adjustments, and implement an action plan. · Identify students with behavior and establish corrective plans for individuals or groups. · Develop positive relationships with the students and parents to foster a respectful and professional school environment. · Work with school counselors and teachers collaboratively to develop and help implement the RTI process for individuals or groups. · Support and work collaboratively with administrators, teachers, and parents while demonstrating a professional manner.

What you need

Qualifications

· Bachelor's Degree Required · Experience with a diverse population of students or in an urban setting a plus. · Fingerprint clearance through NYS Department of Education Competencies: · Strong organizational skills; attention to detail and follow-through. · Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. · Strong communication and negotiating skills. · Ability to work well in a team. · Exceptional ability to bridge and enhance cooperative working relationships. · Ability to create, monitor, and maintain systems that enhance organizational efficiency. · Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment. · Maintain control in stressful situations.

Requirements

Candidates must hold a Bachelor's degree and possess fingerprint clearance through the NYS Department of Education. Experience working with diverse student populations or in an urban setting is considered a plus.
