About the role

The Seasonal Coach is responsible for planning and leading athletic practices, teaching sport-specific fundamentals, and supervising student-athletes during games and team activities. Once a part of Kenrick-Glennon Seminary's campus, the Cardinal Rigali Center in Shrewsbury, MO is today the headquarters and curia (governing body) for the Archdiocese of St.

Louis.Job Summary The Seasonal Coach is responsible for planning, organizing, and leading the school's athletic program for a designated sport during its competitive season.

The coach promotes skill development, teamwork, sportsmanship, and personal growth while supporting the mission, values, and teachings of the Catholic school.

The coach serves as a positive role model, fostering an environment that emphasizes faith, respect, integrity, and excellence.Job Responsibilities

Plan and conduct practices that develop athletes' skills, teamwork, and physical conditioning.

Teach the fundamentals, rules, and strategies of the assigned sport.

Supervise student-athletes during practices, games, travel, and team activities.

Promote good sportsmanship, respect, discipline, and ethical behavior.

Support the spiritual, academic, and personal development of student-athletes consistent with Catholic values.

Communicate effectively with student-athletes, parents, school administration, and officials.

Ensure compliance with school, diocesan, league, and state athletic association policies and regulations.

Maintain accurate records, including attendance, eligibility, equipment, and game results.

Inspect and maintain equipment and report safety concerns promptly.

Coordinate transportation, uniforms, and game-day logistics as assigned.

Attend coaches' meetings, training sessions, and professional development opportunities.

Perform other related duties as assigned by the Athletic Director or Principal.

Job Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelor's degree preferred.

Previous coaching or playing experience in the assigned sport preferred.

Knowledge of sport-specific techniques, rules, and safety practices.

Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.

Ability to work effectively with students, parents, faculty, and administrators.

Commitment to supporting the mission and values of Catholic education.

Practicing Catholic preferred, if consistent with diocesan hiring policies and applicable law.
