About the role

The instructor will teach assigned ESL reading and writing lab classes while maintaining accurate student attendance and grade records. They are also expected to utilize educational technology and participate in departmental meetings and activities.

Passaic County Community College is seeking candidates to teach in the ELS Reading and Writing Labs in both day and evening schedules.

Specific Functions

The candidate will teach assigned ELS lab classes following the ELS Lab Academic Calendar and syllabus.

Meet lab sessions as scheduled for the full period.

Maintain accurate student attendance/grade records and submit them to the Director of ELS Tutoring Services when requested.

Utilize the appropriate technology to fulfill teaching duties.

Participate in the ELS Department activities, including meetings as needed.

Required Background

  • Teaching experience is required
  • Master's in ESL, English, Teaching or related field required

The completion of a background check will be required for the selected candidate.

Compensation

The minimum pay for this position is $25 per hour.

Requirements

Candidates must possess a Master's degree in ESL, English, Teaching, or a related field. Previous teaching experience is required for this position.
