About the role

The substitute teacher is responsible for implementing age-appropriate lesson plans and creating an inclusive, engaging classroom environment. They must also ensure compliance with program guidelines and build positive relationships with families and the community.

As a Substitute Teacher, you'll step into the classroom when needed to lead engaging lessons, nurture curiosity, and provide children with a safe and supportive learning environment.

Whether you're an experienced educator or just beginning your teaching journey, this role offers flexibility, purpose, and the chance to impact lives - every time you step in.

What You'll Do: Implement age-appropriate lesson plans that promote children's growth in all developmental areas.

Create a welcoming, inclusive, and engaging classroom environment.

Support children's learning and well-being in accordance with Head Start Performance Standards.

Build positive relationships with families and help strengthen community connections.

Ensure accurate documentation and compliance with program guidelines.

What We're Looking For: High School Diploma or equivalent required AA/BA in Early Childhood Education or related field preferred.

At least 2 years of experience working with young children, preferably in a Head Start or preschool setting.

A caring and patient approach, with strong communication and classroom management skills.

Commitment to teamwork, flexibility, and professionalism.
