  • Evaluate children’s occupational performance, developmental needs, strengths, and functional abilities
  • Develop individualized plans of care with functional and measurable goals
  • Provide skilled occupational therapy services focused on areas such as fine motor development, sensory processing, self care, play, school readiness, and participation in classroom routines
  • Use evidence based and developmentally appropriate interventions that support each child’s independence and engagement
  • Partner with families to provide education, practical strategies, and home activities that promote progress beyond therapy sessions
  • Collaborate with teachers and program staff to embed therapeutic strategies into classroom activities and daily routines
  • Participate in interdisciplinary collaboration and care coordination as appropriate
  • Complete accurate and timely evaluations, treatment notes, progress reports, and other required documentation
  • Ensure services and documentation meet professional, organizational, payer, and regulatory requirements
  • Maintain a safe, inclusive, and engaging therapeutic environment
  • Manage scheduling and communication proactively, including timely notification of availability or changes
  • Maintain professional licensure and complete required continuing education Qualifications
  • Degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program
  • Current and active Texas Occupational Therapist license
  • Experience providing occupational therapy services to young children, preferably children ages 3 to 5
  • Knowledge of early childhood development, pediatric therapeutic practices, and developmentally appropriate intervention strategies
  • Ability to develop functional goals and provide individualized, play based therapy
  • Strong communication, documentation, organization, and time management skills
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with children, families, educators, and interdisciplinary professionals
  • Ability to use electronic health record and documentation systems Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in a pediatric clinic, preschool, early childhood, or inclusive classroom setting
  • Experience supporting children with developmental delays or disabilities
  • Experience collaborating with teachers and embedding therapeutic strategies into classroom routines
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish Physical Requirements
  • Ability to work at a child’s level, including sitting on the floor, bending, kneeling, crawling, reaching, standing, and transitioning between positions
  • Ability to lift or move up to 40 pounds
  • Ability to actively participate in play based and movement based therapeutic activities Schedule and Employment Status This is a true PRN position. Approximately 20 to 30 hours may be available per week based on operational and scheduling needs. Hours are variable and are not guaranteed. The selected therapist will provide availability and coordinate an agreed upon schedule with program leadership.

Demonstrated ability to provide skilled therapeutic services to young children ages 0–5, including those with disabilities, is required. Knowledge of early childhood development and the ability to apply evidence-based intervention strategies across home and classroom settings is essential. The therapist must be able to collaborate effectively with families, educators, physicians, and interdisciplinary team members. Strong communication, organization, and time management skills are required, along with the ability to complete documentation and utilize electronic records systems in compliance with program requirements.

Preferred

Experience in Early Childhood Intervention (ECI), preschool or classroom-based settings, or a family-centered service organization is preferred. Experience supporting inclusive classroom environments and collaborating with teaching staff is strongly desired. Bilingual in English and Spanish.

Requirements

Requires a Master's degree in Occupational Therapy and an active Texas licensure. Candidates must demonstrate experience in providing therapeutic services to children ages 0-5 and possess strong organizational and communication skills.
