The primary responsibility of the Swim Instructor is to provide a safe and educational aquatic environment for all swim lesson participants.
Provide competent, safe instruction using recognized lead up skills as established by professional and national aquatic agencies.
Plan effective, organized, and consistent instruction for participants that is tailored to their needs and skill ability.
Act as a champion for the facility within the community by marketing skills and lessons.
May also act as a lifeguard, exercise instructor and help with various activities as needed within the center's pool environment.
Education High School Diploma or equivalent required
Experience Experience participating, instructing, and/or coaching swim preferred
Certification & Licensures Lifeguard certification by American Red Cross within 30 days of hire
Certified Water Safety Instructor by American Red Cross preferred*
Aquatic Fitness Professional certification by Aquatic Exercise Association (AEA) preferred*
*Willing to consider (3) years of relevant experience participating, instructing and/or coaching swim in lieu of certification
Qualifications: Ability to instruct all ages 6 months and older in an aquatic setting required
Ability to be flexible and accommodating as it relates to scheduling lessons for the members and guests required
