About the role

The coach will oversee all on-field responsibilities for the Men's Club Lacrosse team, including facilitating practice plans, teaching strategy, and managing team dynamics. They are also responsible for supervising student athletes and ensuring safety during all practices and competitions.

General Summary of Position

This position will oversee all aspects of Men’s Club Lacrosse Team’s on field responsibilities. The coach will work with team captains to facilitate practice plans and teach drills. They will teach strategy, attend every practice and competition, and the coach will help manage team dynamics. The coach will also work with the club’s executive board, who oversee all the team’s administrative responsibilities including scheduling and fundraising efforts. This position reports directly to the Assistant Director of Club Sports and indirectly to all Campus Recreation professional staff members and the team’s officers. The Men’s Club Lacrosse team falls under Campus Recreation and is not associated with Athletics.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide skill development for college students and cater to a variety of skill levels
  • To organize safe and appropriate sport sessions
  • To supervise/mentor/guide the participating members of each club
  • Attend all team practices and games
  • Duty to act in an emergency by performing emergency evacuations; provide First-Aid, CPR, AED based on current certification
  • Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

  • Previous experience in coaching or participating in specific sport
  • Flexible, availability and high level of responsibility
  • High school diploma or GED/equivalent
  • First-Aid, CPR, AED, & Blood Borne Pathogen certifications- must receive within 90 days of starting.
