  • Range: $22.69 HourlyLeader of teaching team in the early childhood classroom. Responsible for the overall development and implementation of the education program in the classroom to keep the classroom compliant with state licensing requirements, Head Start Performance Standards and the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC).
  • Preferred degree: interdisciplinary early childhood education, early childhood special education, early childhood education, early childhood development, elementary education (P-5), childcare assistant, child development services, individual and family studies.
  • Related degree: psychology, sociology, art therapy, child life, elementary education, nursing, speech therapy, counseling, human services, human services administration or program administration, nursery school teacher, university or general studies with emphasis in early childhood, physical therapy, occupational therapy.

  • Skills, experience, education, abilities: a.
  • Teacher I: MA plus IECE certification b.
  • Teacher II: BA plus IECE certification; MA in related degree with equivalent course work. c.

  • Teacher IV: AA in ECE; BA in related degree field. e.
  • Teacher V: CDA in the appropriate area, Infant/Toddler. Experience in early childhood classroom management, planning curriculum and record-keeping is required. Experience working with children with disabilities is highly desired. Experience with computers is highly desired.

Requirements

Candidates must hold at least a bachelor's degree in early childhood education or a related field. Experience in classroom management, curriculum planning, and working with children with disabilities is required.
