The position advises and assists individuals and families with a variety of issues and/or challenges through the Family Partnership and Agreement Plan. The Head Start Pathway Specialist creates, provides, and coordinates services and activities with families and communities that foster strength, healthy living, and overall well-being. Qualifications A.

  • Specialist I: Bachelor’s in Family Services, Human Services, Counseling, or Social Work is required, plus one year of ECS case management experience. B.

  • Specialist II: Associate degree in Family Studies, Human Services, Counseling, or Social Work is required, plus one year of ECS case management experience. C.

  • III: High school diploma or GED, is required. Must obtain within eighteen (18) months of hire, at a minimum, a credential or certification in Social Work, human services, family services, counseling or related field. General understanding of community history, traditions, and beliefs is preferred. Understanding of the causes and effects of poverty as they apply to early growth and family relations is preferred. Knowledge and understanding of human services program management, including program planning, special needs programs, and utilizing community resources is required. Must have excellent oral and written communication and organizational skills. Computer literacy, including word processing, spreadsheets, databases, and internet and e communications are highly preferred. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment to meet deadlines.

Requirements

Candidates must possess a high school diploma or GED and are required to obtain a credential in a related field within eighteen months of hire. Strong organizational, communication, and computer skills are essential for success in this fast-paced environment.
