1035 Middletown Road, Hummelstown, PA 17036, is seeking a dependable, caring, and enthusiastic Part-Time Assistant Teacher to join our welcoming school community.
Afternoons: 2:00–5:30 p.m.
7:00–9:00 a.m. This position is especially well suited for a college student with morning or afternoon/early-evening availability who is interested in gaining hands-on experience working with young children.
What You’ll Do As an Assistant Teacher, you will work alongside our experienced teachers to: Support children’s social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development through positive interactions and active engagement Assist with age-appropriate classroom activities, transitions, and daily routines Help children feel safe, supported, and included Supervise children and provide individualized care and encouragement Prepare classroom materials and maintain a clean, safe, and inviting learning environment Support meals, toileting, diapering, rest periods, and other daily care routines as needed Assist with communicating important information about children’s daily activities Follow all health, safety, licensing, and school procedures
High school diploma required Interest in or aspiration toward working with children Previous experience with children is helpful but not required College coursework in education, early childhood education, psychology, social work, or a related field is a plus Caring, patient, dependable, and able to work collaboratively Willingness to learn about child development and developmentally appropriate practices Ability to work productively with guidance and independently when appropriate Ability to lift up to 50 pounds in connection with the care and supervision of children Ability to pass all required state background checks and meet applicable state requirements Grow With Us At The Goddard School®, you will gain valuable experience while making a meaningful difference in children’s lives.
