About the role

The Preschool Teacher is responsible for providing nurturing care and ensuring the safety and well-being of children in the enrichment center. They will develop age-appropriate activities and maintain a clean, stimulating environment for learning and development.

Time Type: Part time Department: Summary: M-F 3:30PM-7:30PM Salary: Most new hires start between $16.30-$20.30 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications.

Additional Information

The Preschool Teacher I is responsible for the care, supervision, and nurturing of children in the Arkansas Children's Child Enrichment Center. The primary objective is to ensure the safety, well-being, and development of children in their care while creating a positive and enriching environment conducive to growth and learning. Required Education: High school diploma or general education degree (GED) Recommended Education: Required Work Experience: Related Field - 1-6 months of experience Recommended Work Experience: Direct - 1 year of experience Required Certifications: CPR - Must be obtained within 90 days of hire, Heartsaver AED - AHA - American Heart Association Recommended Certifications: CDA - Must be obtained within 12 months of hire, Child Development Associate (CDA) - Council for Professional Recognition Description 1. Provide attentive and nurturing care to children, ensuring their physical, emotional, and social needs are met. 2. Create a safe, clean, and stimulating environment for children to explore, play, and learn. 3. Develop and implement age-appropriate curriculum and activities and daily routines that promote learning, creativity, and socialization. 4. Supervise children during indoor and outdoor activities, ensuring their safety at all times. 5. Assist children with personal hygiene tasks, including diapering, toileting, and handwashing, as needed. 6. Prepare and serve nutritious meals and snacks in accordance with dietary guidelines and any specific dietary requirements. 7. Foster positive relationships with children by engaging in meaningful interactions, active listening, and providing emotional support. 8. Communicate regularly with parents or guardians regarding their child's progress, behavior, and any concerns or updates. 9. Collaborate with the Child Enrichment Center team to coordinate activities, maintain cleanliness, and ensure a smooth operation of the childcare facility. 10. Adhere to all relevant regulations, policies, and procedures governing child care services, including health and safety standards. 11. Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Candidates must have a high school diploma or GED and 1-6 months of related experience. CPR and Heartsaver AED certifications are required within 90 days of hire.
