The Lead Teacher will plan and implement developmentally appropriate lessons using Creative Curriculum and Teaching Strategies GOLD. They are also responsible for maintaining a safe, engaging classroom environment and providing active supervision for all children.
Wonderspring, a nonprofit early childhood education organization, is seeking a dedicated team member to support our New Market West Center in a PHLpreK Preschool classroom as the Lead Teacher.
In this role, you will lead the day-to-day classroom activities, using Creative Curriculum and Teaching Strategies GOLD to guide instruction and support each child’s development. Plan and implement engaging, developmentally appropriate lessons and activities. Lead daily classroom activities, including small group lessons and individualized support. Provide active supervision at all times to ensure the safety and well-being of children. Observe and assess children’s progress using Teaching Strategies GOLD. Create and maintain an engaging classroom environment that support hands-on learning. Build strong relationships with children, families, and the Wonderspring team. Support and guide assistant teachers to keep the classroom running smoothly. Comply with the partnership requirements of PHLpreK
Minimum of an Associate’s degree in ECE/EDU or a related field 2+ years of experience working with children Strong teamwork and flexibility Leadership to build a strong teaching team Ability to keep information private Basic knowledge of childcare rules Must obtain all required clearances and complete a Health Assessment with TB screening prior to employment.
