About the Role

As a Skate School Instructor, you will play a pivotal role in teaching individuals of all ages and skill levels the fundamentals and advanced techniques of skating in a safe and encouraging environment.

Your primary goal is to foster a positive learning experience that builds confidence, improves physical coordination, and promotes a lifelong appreciation for skating.

You will design and implement structured lesson plans tailored to the needs of beginners through advanced skaters, ensuring progressive skill development.

Additionally, you will be responsible for maintaining a safe skating environment by enforcing safety protocols and providing guidance on proper equipment use.

Your work will directly contribute to the growth and success of the skate school program, enhancing community engagement and customer satisfaction across the United States.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Must be a member of USFSA and Learn to Skate USA
  • Proven experience in skating, with strong technical skills in either ice or roller skating.
  • Previous experience teaching or coaching skating to individuals or groups.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with students of all ages.
  • Basic knowledge of safety standards and first aid related to skating activities.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certification in skating instruction or coaching from a recognized organization.
  • Experience working with children and diverse populations in a recreational or educational setting.
  • CPR and First Aid certification.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to motivate and inspire students.
  • Familiarity with skate equipment maintenance and repair.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct group and private skating lessons for students of varying ages and skill levels.
  • Develop customized lesson plans that address individual learning goals and skill progression.
  • Demonstrate proper skating techniques and safety practices to students.
  • Monitor and ensure the safety of all participants during lessons and skating sessions.
