The assistant teacher is responsible for supervising children, implementing curriculum, and leading daily activities in a safe and positive environment. They must also maintain effective communication with parents and keep accurate program records.
In search of Early Childhood Assistant Teacher who will serve as a professional role model for infants, toddlers and preschoolers by leading through example, encouraging healthy and safe behaviors, and creating a positive experience while ensuring safety and proper supervision.
Position Description Flexible shifts between 6:30am-6:30pm Monday through Friday Assist in implementing curriculum within the established guidelines.
Contribute to the creation and implementation of daily lesson/activity plans.
Supervises the children, classroom, and all activities.
Help make ongoing, systematic observations of each child.
Maintains positive relationships and effective communication with parents.
Maintains program site and equipment.
Maintains required program records.
Maintains training in First aid, CPR, Communicable Diseases and Child Abuse Awareness as well as 10 hours of Ohio Approved training per year. (trainings provided by YMCA and affiliates) Attends and participates in family nights, program activities, staff meetings, and staff training.
Candidates must be at least 18 years old and possess a high school diploma. The role requires the ability to stand for extended periods and maintain certifications in First Aid, CPR, and child safety.
