Consultants provide writing support to student athletes through scheduled appointments, walk-ins, and workshops. They are responsible for planning strategic writing approaches, maintaining student records, and participating in ongoing professional development.

Writing Consultants in the OU Athletic Writing Center provide writing support for student athletes in scheduled 1:1 appointments, walk in appointments, and writing workshops throughout the semester.

• Must have earned a B or higher in the specific course or have been awarded a degree in that area.
Experience working as a tutor for undergraduate or graduate students.
Experience working with a variety of students.
Working knowledge of university, Conference, and NCAA rules and regulations.

Candidates must have completed English Composition courses with an A or B and maintain a 3.0 cumulative GPA. Proficiency in MLA, APA, and Chicago citation formats is required, along with the ability to build relationships with a diverse student population.
