Summary Seeking an enthusiastic and student-centered Secondary Math Teacher to inspire students in grades 6–12 through engaging, standards-based mathematics instruction. The ideal candidate is passionate about helping students build mathematical confidence, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills while supporting the school's mission of developing the mental, physical, and emotional well-being of every student. This educator will foster a rigorous, inclusive learning environment where students are challenged academically, encouraged to collaborate, and prepared for future success in college, careers, and life. What You'll Do Plan and deliver engaging mathematics instruction aligned with Minnesota Academic Standards. Teach secondary mathematics courses appropriate to student needs, including subjects such as Intermediate Algebra, Geometry, Advanced Algebra, Statistics, or other middle and high school math courses. Develop lesson plans that promote conceptual understanding, mathematical reasoning, and real-world problem solving. Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse academic needs of all learners. Use formative and summative assessments to monitor student progress and adjust instruction accordingly. Foster a positive classroom culture that promotes student engagement, collaboration, and academic growth. Incorporate technology and innovative instructional strategies to enhance mathematics learning. Support students in developing strong study habits, perseverance, and critical-thinking skills. Collaborate with colleagues to analyze student data, improve instruction, and strengthen curriculum alignment. Maintain accurate student records, grades, attendance, and progress reports. Communicate regularly with students, parents, and school staff regarding academic progress and student success. Participate in professional learning communities, staff meetings, school events, and ongoing professional development. Support FIT Academy's commitment to integrating fitness, character development, and teamwork into the educational experience. Perform other duties as assigned. Experience You'll Need Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Mathematics Education, or a related field. Valid Minnesota teaching license (or eligibility for licensure) in Secondary Mathematics. Strong knowledge of secondary mathematics curriculum and instructional best practices. Ability to teach multiple secondary mathematics courses. Experience differentiating instruction for diverse learners. Strong classroom management and relationship-building skills. Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
