About the role

The teacher is responsible for the direct supervision and instruction of students following plans provided by the regular teacher. They must also participate in daily school duties such as morning drop-off and pick-up while collaborating with staff and administration.

St. John Catholic School in Westminster, Maryland, is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic full-time Long-Term Elementary Substitute Teacher. The Long-Term Elementary Substitute Teacher is responsible for the direct supervision and instruction of students during a teacher's extended absence.

Essential Functions

Participate in the active supervision of students at all times.

Oversee the instruction of students following the plans provided by the regular teacher.

Follow daily routine of teacher and fill in for duties outside the classroom such as morning drop-off or pick-up as needed.

Work collaboratively with other teachers, assistants, staff and administration.

Interact effectively and respond to communication in a professional, empathetic, and timely manner.

Position Qualifications

Degree in Elementary Education preferred.

Current MSDE certification preferred.

Knowledge of child development and supervision.

Experience teaching in an elementary school setting.

Pay Range

$30,240 - $36,960, Annualized (10-month position)

Requirements

Candidates should have experience teaching in an elementary school setting and knowledge of child development. A degree in Elementary Education and current MSDE certification are preferred.
