Part-Time Deaf & Hard of Hearing (DHH) Teacher | Illinois | School-Year Opportunity

Help Students Connect, Learn, and Thrive

Our Organization is seeking a passionate Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) to support an Illinois school district throughout the 2026–2027 academic year. This on-site, part-time position offers a flexible 2–3 day per week schedule, making it an excellent opportunity for an educator dedicated to helping students achieve their communication and academic goals.

In this role, you'll deliver individualized instruction designed to meet the unique needs of students who are deaf or hard of hearing while collaborating with teachers, specialists, and families to ensure comprehensive educational support. Your guidance will help students strengthen communication skills, build independence, and reach meaningful milestones in an inclusive learning environment.

What to Expect

Part-time, in-person assignment for the full 2026–2027 school year. Collaborate with school staff, related service providers, and families. Deliver specialized instruction and support individualized learning plans. Promote student growth through accessible, engaging, and inclusive educational practices.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree or higher in Deaf Education or a related field. Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) is strongly preferred. Strong communication, collaboration, and instructional planning skills. Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary educational team. Active Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with a Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) endorsement.
