Description The Community Education Specialist (CES) is part of a professional team focused on raising awareness of domestic violence and Hubbard House resources in our community. The CES may contribute to general community education or specialized educational programs, including educating youth, engaging men, training on the intersection of domestic violence and substance use, and related areas.
The CES facilitates curriculum, collaborates with internal and community partners, and attends community engagements. The CES may additionally support the development of community education materials and multi-media assets, evaluative tools, and similar assets.
This position may include evening and Saturday hours to attend community events and facilitate curriculum. This is an in-person position that is not eligible for remote work.
The position requires a clear communicator, both verbal and written, and someone with high standards around work ethic, collaboration, organization, and detail. Experience in Microsoft Office (or equivalent) is required.
Principal Duties 1.
Facilitates community education programming and professional trainings on domestic violence and Hubbard House resources in the community. a.
Works collaboratively with the Community Education department to determine opportunities for facilitation and pursues new facilitation opportunities in the community. b.
Facilitates educational engagements. c.
Reviews and revises, as necessary, community education and violence prevention curriculum. d.
Participates in collaborative community meetings. e.
Develops printed and multimedia assets, as designated. f.
Attends community-based events to share information and raise awareness. g.
Contributes content for social media platforms, websites, and related assets, as designated.

As designated, contributes to one or more of the following specialized educational programs: facilitating violence prevention programming, with a focus on youth and youth-serving adults, in alignment with Department of Children and Families contract requirements; facilitating the "Not My City" education program to engage men and boys as allies in the prevention of violence against women and girls, in alignment with Office on Violence Against Women contract requirements; facilitating education programming relating to the co-occurrence of domestic violence and substance use/opioid use, in alignment with City of Jacksonville contract requirements. a.
Coordinates contract deliverables and maintains records to ensure compliance with regulating standards, as designated. b.
Attends trainings as designated by various regulating entities and Hubbard House.

Ensures accessibility for community members with disabilities, who are Deaf/Hard-of-Hearing, and/or who require translation or interpretation services.
4.
Represents Hubbard House in the community while maintaining high professional standards.
5.
Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the supervisor.
A bachelor's degree in education, training, social service work, or a related field is preferred (equivalent experience considered). Two years of experience in facilitating community-based trainings preferred.
