The Security Guard plays a critical role in maintaining a safe, structured, and positive environment during after-school program hours. This position is responsible for controlling campus access, monitoring program areas, and assisting with safe student dismissal and parent pick-up. Access
Control: Monitor building entrances and exits, verify that only authorized individuals enter the facility, and maintain visitor logs.
Student
Supervision: Maintain visibility during dismissal and parent pick-up procedures, ensuring students are released only to authorized adults.
Campus
Patrol: Focus patrols strictly on active areas like the cafeteria, gymnasium, media center, or specific classrooms.
Emergency
Response: Respond to alarms, investigate disturbances, and assist site staff in executing emergency protocols like fire drills or lockdowns.
Incident
Documentation: Document and report any safety concerns, maintenance issues, or behavioral incidents to the site manager or school administration.
Public
Relations: Serve as a welcoming presence, assisting parents with questions and addressing concerns in a calm, courteous manner.
Facility
Security: Ensure doors, windows, and gates are secured and locked at the end of the evening. Attends YWCA staff training and weekly site meetings. Performs other duties as assigned. Hours may change to accommodate staff/child ratio coverage.
High School Diploma or equivalent GED required. Background Check: Clear Level II background screening Experience: 1 to 2 years of experience working with children or in a school/campus security setting preferred.
