About the role

The Athletic Trainer provides evidence-based athletic health care to athletes, including injury prevention, clinical assessment, and emergency care. They are responsible for developing and maintaining comprehensive health care programs for athletes under the direction of a physician.

This position is in partnership with Grace Christian University.

About this Position Grace Christian University is a DII NCCAA (National Christian College Athletic Association).

The Athletic Trainer will cover all the sports GCU provides which includes Baseball, Men's Basketball, Men's soccer, E-sports, Women's Basketball, Cross country, Women's soccer, Softball, and Women's volleyball.

Expectations would be covering home competitions and weekend coverage for home events.

Scope of Work Provides quality, evidence based athletic health to stakeholders in the sports medicine outreach athletic training program.

Develops, implements, and maintains comprehensive health care programs for patients, clients, and athletes.

The practice of athletic training includes injury/illness prevention and wellness protection, clinical assessment and impression, immediate and emergency care, treatment and rehabilitation, and organizational and professional health and well-being of individuals under the direction of a physician.

Travel required.

Qualifications

Required Bachelor's Degree or equivalent Completion of a CAATE approved athletic training education program within bachelors or masters program Preferred Master's Degree or equivalent Completion of a CAATE approved athletic training education program within bachelors or masters program Successful completion of competency-based orientation program Required 1 year of relevant experience Related and progressively more responsible experience in all aspects of athletic training Required CRT-Athletic Trainer, Certified - BOC Board of Certification and Accreditation Upon Hire required LIC-Athletic Trainer License - STATE_MI State of Michigan Upon Hire required AHA OR ARC Basic Life Support (BLS) within 90 days of hire requireTd

Requirements

Candidates must hold a Bachelor's degree and have completed a CAATE-approved athletic training program. Required certifications include BOC certification, a Michigan state license, and Basic Life Support (BLS).
