Position Overview Marian Central Catholic High School is seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Assistant Wrestling Coach to support the development of student-athletes within a competitive, faith-centered athletic environment. The ideal candidate will assist with all aspects of the wrestling program, including instruction, training, supervision, and the mentorship of student-athletes. This position requires strong character, clear communication, and a commitment to fostering a positive culture aligned with the mission of Marian Central Catholic.
Prior wrestling experience as an athlete or coach required; high school or college experience preferred. Demonstrated understanding of wrestling fundamentals, IHSA rules, and safe coaching techniques. Ability to build positive relationships with student-athletes of varying skill levels. Strong organizational ability and dependability. Must complete all Diocese of Rockford employment requirements, including Safe Environment training, background checks, and certification. CPR/AED certification (or willingness to obtain). Desired Attributes Passion for teaching the sport of wrestling in a mission-driven Catholic school setting. High energy, patience, and the ability to motivate student-athletes. Commitment to teamwork and supporting the vision of the Head Wrestling Coach. Professional communication skills with students, families, officials, and school personnel. Work Schedule Season runs approximately November through February. Afternoon/evening practices, weekend tournaments, and travel as scheduled. Additional off-season work may be available but is not required.
