The Teacher Assistant will support the lead teacher by supervising learning activities, providing instructional assistance, and managing classroom behavior. They are also responsible for maintaining student records and preparing classroom materials to support a vibrant Catholic learning environment.

Job Responsibilities
Assists in the supervision of learning activities providing assistance and support to students.
Provides instruction to students as prescribed by the Teacher and reinforces skills introduced by the Teacher.
Assists Teacher in evaluating students’ work; works with students individually and in small groups, reinforcing skills based on instructional guidelines.
Assists in managing student behavior and maintaining class4room order.
Reinforces rules of the school and classroom; escorts students to time-out or Principal’s office.
Escorts, supervises and/or provides assistance to students during lunch breaks, restroom visits and other activities.
Assists in the preparation of lesson plans; provides input and assistance in the development of classroom activities.
Coordinates with media center staff for classroom learning resources.
Assists in preparing classroom bulletin boards, decorations, displays, etc.
Maintains student records.
Any other task assigned.
State of Florida law requires fingerprinting and clearance through the Florida DOE Background Screening Clearinghouse for all school-based positions.

Candidates must possess at least a high school diploma or GED and have 1-3 years of experience working with children. Applicants must also be able to pass a FDLE Level 2 background check and demonstrate strong communication and organizational skills.
