Position Summary

Moraine Park Technical College is seeking a part-time Adjunct Faculty - Adult Education Instructor at the Fond du Lac campus. We are looking for an instructor to teach GED related courses with availability on Monday afternoon/evenings (2:00pm - 7:00pm) and Tuesday morning/afternoons (9:00am - 2:00pm). This position is responsible for the multiple modality delivery of instruction and facilitation of student learning and providing ongoing development of curriculum, assessment, and learning strategies to meet college academic and workforce needs. In addition, this position will provide regular student support and contact, or refer to the appropriate department, to meet the learner’s classroom and career goals. The successful candidate will have a bachelor’s degree or higher in Elementary Education, Secondary Education, Adult Education, or Special Needs Education. Prior teaching experience or experience working with secondary, post-secondary, and adult learners preferred. This position will be posted and applications accepted until the position is filled; however, initial review of applicants will take place August 12, 2026.

Responsibilities

Prepare for and facilitate learning in the assigned courses according to the College’s core values. Establish a professional and safe learning environment. Set the classroom tone by modeling appropriate workplace skills and behavior. Maintain a positive climate for learning by performing classroom management and being aware of, monitoring, and enforcing the Student Code of Conduct. Meet student learning needs by incorporating a variety of teaching methods and assessments. Maintain student confidentiality, records, and documentation as required by Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA). Submit grades within the expected timeframe. Provide timely verbal and written feedback to the students to ensure continued growth and development. May participate in the development, implementation, evaluation, and updating of curriculum. Assist with student recruitment and positively promote the College programs and services offered. Promote retention and student success through the utilization of referrals to College services and resources. Maintain ongoing relationships with K-12, Department of Corrections (DOC), community, and industry partners beyond the classroom. Actively maintain proficient knowledge and skills in emerging trends and current occupational practices. Complete annual professional development activities in areas of Faculty Quality Assurance Standards (FQAS) competencies. Complete all required training. Experience & Qualifications(in addition to those listed in the summary above): Demonstrated ability to teach in multiple content areas Demonstrated ability to work effectively with diverse populations by promoting and maintaining an inclusive work environment and culture that is respectful and accepting of diversity. Relevant certifications, licenses, and credentials may vary based on assigned course(s). Desired Qualifications: Two years of teaching experience Experience with digital literacy or educational technology Experience working with secondary, post-secondary, and adult learners Ability to adapt teaching to multiple modalities including in-person, online, video conferencing (VC), and Teams Hiring Range: Adjunct pay rates start at $39.85/hour Starting: Fall 2026 Hours/Schedule: Up to 12 hours per week (pending course assignment). Monday afternoon/evenings (2:00pm - 7:00pm) and Tuesday morning/afternoons (9:00am - 2:00pm).

Requirements

Candidates must hold at least a bachelor's degree in Education or a related field. Prior teaching experience with secondary or adult learners is preferred, along with the ability to adapt to multiple teaching modalities.
