Grades 7-12 History Teacher Full-Time | Malden, Massachusetts About Mystic Valley Regional Charter School Mystic Valley Regional Charter School (MVRCS) is a high-performing public K–12 charter school located in Malden, Massachusetts, serving more than 1,750 students across four campuses.

MVRCS is recognized for its rigorous academic program, strong school culture, and commitment to educational excellence.

Our success is rooted in exceptional educators, a content-rich curriculum, high academic expectations, and a traditional, teacher-led instructional model that prepares students for success in college and beyond.

Students attend school for a 200-day academic year and benefit from an extended school day that provides approximately one additional hour of instruction compared to traditional public schools.

A school-wide dress code and structured learning environment reinforce our commitment to academic achievement, character development, and personal responsibility.

Key Responsibilities Develop and implement lessons that promote historical inquiry, critical thinking, and a strong understanding of historical events, cultures, and civilizations.

Design and administer formative and summative assessments to measure student progress and guide instructional planning.

Analyze student performance data to differentiate instruction and maximize student achievement.

Collaborate with grade-level teams and school leadership to ensure curriculum alignment and instructional consistency.

Maintain a structured, respectful learning environment that supports high academic and behavioral expectations.

Foster student engagement, intellectual curiosity, and a growth mindset.

Communicate effectively with students, families, colleagues, and administrators regarding student progress and academic expectations.

Participate in faculty meetings, professional development, curriculum planning, and other school-wide initiatives.

Perform additional duties as assigned by school leadership.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree required; degree in History, Social Studies, Education, or a related field preferred. Massachusetts teaching license or eligibility for licensure preferred. Strong knowledge of history and social studies content. Excellent presentation, communication, and classroom management skills. Demonstrated ability to analyze student data and adjust instruction to improve outcomes. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to build positive, professional relationships with students, families, and colleagues. Commitment to collaboration, continuous professional growth, and academic excellence. Enthusiasm for working within a structured, high-expectation educational environment and extended school day/year model.

Additional Information

Full-time, annual appointment. Reports to the Lower School Administration. Competitive salary and comprehensive benefits package. Requirements
