About the role

The Special Education Teacher will evaluate, monitor, and track children's progress while adjusting treatment plans to meet individual needs. They are responsible for maintaining accurate documentation in the Electronic Medical Record system and adhering to state regulations for early intervention services.

Liberty POST is currently seeking a motivated and energetic Early Childhood Special Education Teacher for per diem employment to work with children who are birth-5 years old through Early Intervention and Preschool Special Education programs. Immediate positions are available throughout Syracuse.

Backed by Liberty Resources Inc. and part of a large social services circle, originally POST was a speech-language practice in Syracuse NY and has grown to provide a range of services throughout New York State and Indiana. We employ over 500 professionals in a variety of settings and offer a collaborative team approach to provide evaluation, direct therapy, and family education through child-directed play. We are focused on the importance of a child’s natural learning environment, a family’s unique strengths and needs and the diverse population we serve.

Job

Duties and Responsibilities

Evaluate, monitor and track child’s progress and adjust treatment plans accordingly. Test and evaluate child’s abilities to determine realistic goals. Record information on the initial evaluation, treatment, and progress in a timely manner using Electronic Medical Record system. Proficient at writing detailed analysis and reports. Effectively organize and maintain confidentially of child’s records and other documentations. Follow all state laws and regulations as it pertains to Early Intervention, CPSE/CSE special education. Qualifications, Knowledge and Experience: Current New York State Licensure and/or Certification in Special Education Bachelor’s Degree Preferred Master’s Degree Preferred Knowledge of MS Word and comfortable with working with computer systems Early Childhood Experience Valid Driver’s License NYS Teaching certification in B-2nd grade students with disabilities (or permanent certification in Special Education Great interpersonal and communication skills

Requirements

Candidates must hold a current New York State Licensure or Certification in Special Education, with a preference for a Bachelor's or Master's degree. Experience in early childhood education and proficiency with computer systems are required for this role.
