About the role

The Athletic Trainer manages comprehensive care for student-athlete illnesses and injuries, including prevention, assessment, treatment, and rehabilitation. They also provide urgent medical coverage for athletic events and coordinate care with coaches, physicians, and parents.

Athletic Trainer Who You Are The Episcopal Academy seeks an Athletic Trainer to support the health, safety, and performance of our student-athletes.

This 11-month position offers a high-impact position for a medical professional dedicated to education-based athletics and invested in helping students flourish physically, mentally, and emotionally.

Reporting directly to the Head Athletic Trainer, the Athletic Trainer will offer comprehensive care for student-athletes in grades 6-12.

This position operates in close collaboration with coaches, school nurses, other athletic trainers, physicians, strength and conditioning staff, and athletic administrators.

What You Will Do Manage comprehensive care for athletic illnesses and injuries, encompassing prevention, assessment, treatment, rehabilitation, and safe return-to-play protocols.

Provide urgent and first-response medical care at athletic practices and events.

Design and monitor custom recovery plans tailored to facilitate safe and efficient rehabilitation.

Coordinate student-athlete care alongside doctors, school nurses, fitness staff, coaches, and parents.

Log thorough medical documents and injury reports within digital medical records platforms.

Educate student-athletes on nutrition, hydration, injury mitigation, recovery strategies, and general health.

Provide full medical coverage by attending scheduled afternoon, evening, and weekend sports events and training sessions.

Contribute to the creation of guidelines and practices designed to safeguard student-athlete wellbeing.

Promote a departmental environment focused on resilience, character development, personal growth, and athletic superiority.

Act as an engaged, visible representative of the campus community, reflecting the foundational values and objectives of Episcopal Academy.

About You We seek a proactive, organized, and compassionate healthcare professional who understands that exceptional athletic training goes beyond injury treatment.

You excel at building trusting relationships with coaches and students, communicating effectively, and fostering an environment where student-athletes achieve peak performance while safeguarding their long-term well-being.

You thrive in a collaborative school community and view athletics as integral to the overall educational journey.

To be successful in this role, you will bring a blend of clinical expertise and exceptional interpersonal skills, including: Current NATABOC certification as a BOC Athletic Trainer.

Possession of or eligibility for Pennsylvania state licensure.

Up-to-date credentials in CPR and AED administration.

An undergraduate degree in Athletic Training (required), with a Master's degree preferred.

Exceptional proficiency in interpersonal communication, teamwork, and organization.

At least three years of professional experience in an educational or athletic setting.

Familiarity with digital healthcare record management systems.

Flexibility to accommodate schedule demands involving evenings, weekends, and team travel.
