The substitute teacher is responsible for delivering lesson plans prepared by the regular teacher and maintaining an effective, orderly classroom environment. They must also track daily attendance and provide active supervision of students throughout school hours.

Teach the lesson plans prepared by the regular teacher.
Maintain an effective and orderly classroom environment.
Submit daily attendance records.
Assist with the supervision of all students during school hours.
Performs other duties as assigned.

High school diploma or GED.
Bachelor's degree and valid substitute teaching credential through the California Commission for Teacher Credentialing.
Prior experience as a substitute teacher at the secondary/high school level.
Knowledge of concepts in computers in an instructional environment and able to work with cooperative group’s methods.
Effective presentation, written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work well with youth/teens and diverse population, and with contracted service providers and representatives of partnering agencies.
Pass required background investigation including medical examination and TB clearance, acceptable criminal record statement, Department of Justice fingerprint clearance.
COVID-19 vaccination required within 60 days of hire, unless approved for religious or medical exemption.
