About the role

The Dedicated Special Education Aide provides one-on-one academic and social-emotional support to students in grades 1-4. They collaborate with teachers to maintain a learning-focused classroom culture and assist with student self-care activities.

Ingenuity Prep prepares students in Ward 8 to succeed in college and beyond as impactful civic leaders.

Our innovative instructional model promotes small group learning for students, collaborative teaching teams, and robust coaching and professional development opportunities for staff.

The Dedicated Special Education Aide will work in collaboration with other members of Ingenuity Prep’s Elementary School Academy to promote the academic and social-emotional development of one or more students who have been identified as benefiting from an increased and more consistent level of differentiated instruction and support.

The Dedicated Special Education Aide will serve to provide critical support to students in behavior support capacities.

  • Aide, you will: Serve as a dedicated aide providing one-on-one support for a student or students in grades 1-4. Along with classroom teachers, support the development of a joyful, efficient, learning-focused classroom culture — in alignment with the school’s vision of excellence for classroom culture. Along with classroom teachers, support exemplary student growth — both academically and socio-emotionally. Support students with self-care activities. Support classroom instruction with fidelity to plans and flexibility in responding to student understanding & misunderstanding. Consistently communicate and collaborate with families and students' influencers to cultivate productive partnerships. Collaborate with and support colleagues in both formal and informal professional development opportunities. Maintain the highest standards of professionalism.

At least one year of experience serving as a Dedicated Aide or Teaching Assistant in an Elementary School setting is strongly preferred You are familiar with best practice instructional strategies.   • A robust and comprehensive benefits package, in which: 100% of the medical and dental premium for employees and 100% for their dependents and 50% for their spouse are paid by Ingenuity Prep. 100% of employee’s short and long-term disability and life insurance plans are paid by Ingenuity Prep. All full-time staff are eligible for a minimum of two weeks maternity/paternity leave at 100% pay for all staff -- regardless of gender. Over time, that increases to as much as six weeks -- all at 100% pay. A 100% match -- up to 3% -- on your 401K retirement plan. A 100% Ingenuity Prep-paid cell phone plan. You can even bring your current number into our plan. Requirements

Candidates should have experience implementing IEPs and at least one year of experience as a dedicated aide or teaching assistant in an elementary school setting. Strong problem-solving skills and emotional, social, and cultural competency are required.
