Acts as liaison between classroom teachers and YMCA. Provides a quality experience to children and parents to support the objectives of the program.

  • Functions: Coordinates and schedules student pre- and post-assessment testing Coordinates student tutoring schedules in conjunction with Site Director; acts as liaison between classroom teachers and Middle School Academy. Monitors student grades Assists Site Director in planning academic activities/functions Aids Site Director in collecting program/student data and documentation Attends all meetings/trainings relative to Middle School Academies, models, and supports Site Director Provides Site Director with grade level curriculum guides; assists with alignment of enrichment activities' calendar communicates with Site Director Communicates and updates Site Director Displays students' work/projects Promotes Middle School Academy to parents, students, staff, and school community Follows all programming and scheduling requirements Adheres to policies related to boundaries with youth Attends required abuse risk management training Adheres to procedures related to managing high-risk activities and supervising youth Reports suspicious or inappropriate behaviors and policy violations Follows mandated abuse reporting

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree CPR, First Aid, AED certifications within 30 days of hire date. YMCA New Employee training completed before hire date. Ability to plan, organize and implement age-appropriate/developmentally appropriate program activities. Previous experience with diverse populations. Ability to develop positive, authentic relationships with people from different backgrounds. Pass a 10-panel drug screen. Clear a Level 2 background check
  • Pay & Perks: Part-time schedule, approximately 10-15 hours/week. Must be available Monday-Friday. Pay rate: $30.00/hour; free YMCA membership for employee and discount for family. *Level 2 background clearance through DCF (Florida) required.
