The Career Readiness Coordinator collaborates with the Director of Career Services in developing career-related job opportunities among area employers for the students of a Community College. The Coordinator also assists in development, administration and marketing of programs which integrate students’ academic studies with practical work experience in their career fields. Under the direction of the Director of Cooperative Education or Career Services or other administrator, the Career Readiness Coordinator is accountable for promoting and obtaining the participation of employers in programs for placement of the College’s students in career-related internships and jobs to provide students with experience and permanent employment through effective performance in these essential duties:
Bachelor's degree in an appropriately relevant field with two (2) or more years of experience applying those disciplines in a field related to career development, placement, education administration, or business; or a combination of education, training and experience that would lead to the competencies required for successful performance of the position’s essential duties Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Job placement or recruiting Career advising or counseling Experience in a college/university setting Ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, and ethnic backgrounds, including individuals with disabilities. Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams).
Two (2) or more years of experience developing new business opportunities and building and maintaining employer relationships. Experience with career services and recruiting software platforms (e.g., Handshake, Symplicity, 12twenty, or similar platforms). Demonstrated experience developing and implementing marketing, outreach, and social media strategies. Two (2) or more years of experience managing internship, cooperative education, or other experiential learning programs.
