The Instructional Assistant position will assist students under the direction of a certified teacher. The Instructional Assistant assists the teacher in general daily classroom activities, help students, and cares for their physical, emotional health and safety, affirming their abilities, and striving to promote dignity in all relationships. The Instructional Assistant will be under the supervision of the Principal.
Required knowledge and skills Work experience in a school setting with students Must possess organization, communication and problem solving skills. Must pass a DOJ background check. Must be willing to create and follow through with individualized professional development plan. Ability to demonstrate skills in development of academic activities. Strong administrative and organizational skills. High level of communication skills, both written and oral. Strong initiative and ability to solve problems. Education Desired BA Degree preferred, but not absolutely necessary Physical Requirements Prolonged periods of desk work and computer use. Ability to regularly use finger dexterity. Prolonged periods of standing and walking on stairs, inclines and flat surfaces Motor coordination and finger dexterity for keyboarding and other tasks. Occasional lifting of objects up to twenty pounds. Ability to sustain in various weather conditions. Ability to access and navigate various facilities within the multiple school site network. Salary Description $22.50 - $25.00/hr
