Wonderspring, a nonprofit early childhood education organization, is seeking a Before and After Care Assistant Teacher to support our school-age program. This role works with children in kindergarten through fifth grade and helps create a safe and engaging environment before and after the school day. Our program operates across five elementary schools within the Colonial School District.
In this role, you will support our Site Supervisor to help keep the before and after care program running smoothly and transition into supporting our summer camp program. Support with daily program activities, including group games, free play, and structured activities Provide active supervision at all times, keeping children safe and engaged in a busy and active setting Help manage transitions during morning arrival and afternoon dismissal Build and maintain relationships with children, families, co-workers and administrators. Summer Camp Responsibilities Support daily camp activities, including group games, outdoor play, and special events Help supervise children during camp activities, including field trips Assist with transitions throughout the camp day Help maintain a safe, organized, and engaging camp environment
High School Diploma/GED 2 years of experience working with school-age children, preferred Maintain professional and manage confidential information with care. Basic understanding of Department of Human Services (DHS) licensing requirements. Must obtain all required clearances and complete a Health Assessment with TB screening prior to employment.
