About the role

The therapist provides direct individual and group therapeutic services to youth and families within a school-based setting. They are responsible for developing treatment plans, managing crisis situations, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure positive client outcomes.

Job summary

Best Point Education & Behavioral Health is seeking a compassionate and skilled Therapist to support youth and families at Withamsville-Tobasco Elementary School through a combination of Day Treatment programming and individual therapy services. This role is responsible for providing direct therapeutic interventions, facilitating evidence-based group therapy, delivering individual therapy services, managing crisis situations, and contributing to positive client outcomes.

The Therapist plays a critical role in creating a safe, trauma-informed therapeutic environment while collaborating with families, schools, and multidisciplinary teams to support each client's treatment goals. This position emphasizes clinical excellence, relationship-building, quality documentation, and adherence to professional and organizational standards.

Qualifications

  • Active LSW, LISW, LPC, or LPCC licensure in the State of Ohio
  • Master's degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or related field
  • Experience working in office, school, and/or mental health treatment settings
  • Ability to implement behavior modification and intervention strategies
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office applications
  • Strong clinical judgment, assessment, and documentation skills
  • Ability to work effectively in fast-paced therapeutic environments serving youth
  • Commitment to trauma-informed, culturally responsive, and client-centered care
  • Experience facilitating therapeutic groups and providing individual counseling services
  • Experience working with children, adolescents, and families

Essential job responsibilities

  • Direct client services
  • Build and maintain strong therapeutic relationships with clients and families
  • Facilitate structured group therapy utilizing evidence-based interventions within the Day Treatment program
  • Provide individual therapy services based on client treatment goals and identified needs
  • Develop, implement, and monitor individualized treatment plans
  • Implement Behavior Support Plans (BSPs) and therapeutic interventions
  • Utilize CPI techniques and de-escalation strategies during crisis situations
  • Conduct ongoing assessments and treatment planning to support client progress
  • Maintain accurate, complete, and timely clinical documentation according to agency and regulatory standards
  • Collaboration & communication
  • Communicate effectively with parents, guardians, caregivers, and school personnel
  • Participate in weekly supervision, case consultation, and treatment team meetings
  • Collaborate with internal and external partners to coordinate client care
  • Partner with multidisciplinary teams to achieve client, program, and organizational goals
  • Maintain positive professional relationships with community stakeholders
  • Quality & compliance
  • Utilize clinical and program outcome data to inform treatment decisions
  • Contribute to achieving quarterly quality, performance, and client outcome goals
  • Maintain compliance with agency policies, licensure requirements, billing regulations, and ethical standards
  • Participate in quality assurance and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Administrative responsibilities
  • Complete documentation and billing accurately and within established timelines
  • Maintain schedules, treatment plans, and client records within Credible
  • Utilize Credible reports and data tools to monitor client outcomes and performance metrics
  • Ensure therapy and group spaces remain organized, safe, and properly supplied
  • Complete all required trainings and certifications
