About the role

The Campus Safety Officer patrols the campus to ensure the protection of students, employees, and visitors. They are responsible for responding to emergencies, writing incident reports, and enforcing college rules and regulations.

  • time, 2nd shift, weekend Campus Safety Officer. We are looking for someone ready to make an impact & join a great team to work with!

Knox invites applications for the part-time, 12-month position of Campus Safety Officer. This Campus Safety Officer will work on an as-needed basis up to 24 hours per week, which may include any shift, including nights, weekends and/or holidays. This position reports to the Director of Campus Safety.

Essential Duties

  • Patrol campus in a vehicle and on foot for the protection of students, employees, visitors and their property
  • Respond to emergency situations and routine requests for service
  • Write incident reports
  • Enforce Knox College rules and regulations
  • Secure and provide authorized access to campus buildings
  • Coordinate with emergency services when required
  • Report any safety/security situations

Education and Experience

Required Qualifications

  • Preferred- two or more years experience in security or law enforcement
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Ability to patrol on foot in all types of weather
  • Strong, professional written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to make sound decisions, sometimes with limited information, in fluid situations
