Position

Overview: We are seeking a dedicated, empathetic, and experienced in-person School Psychologist to join our team on a contract basis. As a School Psychologist, you will provide comprehensive psychological services to students, collaborate with educators and families, and contribute to fostering a healthy learning environment. You will work in a school setting, offering evaluation, consultation, intervention, and prevention services that support students' academic, social, emotional, and behavioral well-being.

Responsibilities

Conduct psychological assessments and evaluations to determine students' cognitive, emotional, and behavioral needs. Collaborate with educators, parents, and school staff to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) and behavior intervention plans (BIPs). Provide counseling and interventions to support students' emotional and mental health needs. Participate in multidisciplinary teams to address students' academic and behavioral challenges. Offer consultation and training to school personnel on strategies to improve learning environments and student outcomes. Promote positive mental health through prevention programs, crisis intervention, and school-wide initiatives. Maintain accurate and confidential records in compliance with state and federal regulations.

Requirements

Eligible for or able to obtain South Carolina Department of Education School Psychologist Certification. Expected Hours per week: 37.5

Essential Duties and Responsibilities not limited to

Conducts extensive psychological evaluations of students Increase achievement by assessing barriers to learning and determining the best instructional strategies to improve learning Evaluate eligibility for special education services (within a multidisciplinary team) Support effective individualized instruction Collect data and provide systematic observations for students experiencing challenges in the school setting. Make referrals and participate in the coordination of community support services Member of school support teams Participates as a crisis team member and provides crisis intervention for students and staff in the event a situation is warranted Stays current on new developments in the field of education All other duties assigned

Qualifications

Master's or Doctoral degree in School Psychology from a NASP-approved/accredited program Valid SC state license or state department of education certification as a School Psychologist. Educator Certificate (if applicable) Prefer experience working as a School Psychologist in a school setting. Prefer knowledge of state and federal special education laws and regulations. Strong skills in psychological testing, counseling, and intervention techniques. Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving abilities. Commitment to cultural competence and diversity. Passion for working with children and adolescents in educational settings. Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and adapt to changing needs
