Safe Passages·Oakland, California
The instructor will facilitate age-appropriate enrichment activities in areas such as S.T.E.A.M., sports, and academic support to engage high school youth. They are responsible for developing lesson plans, ensuring program safety, and monitoring student progress toward graduation.
Safe Passages disrupts the cycle of poverty by engaging youth and families to build and drive a continuum of services that supports student success and community development.
We envision a community where all young people have the opportunity to realize their full potential. Safe Passages’ work is based on the premises that access to educational opportunity, health services, and family support, should not be dictated by race or socio-economic status, and when young people have the health and support, they need, they are better prepared and equipped to not only learn, but to succeed.
Safe Passages’ After School Program provides quality enrichment support services to children and youth through a strong youth development framework. Safe Passages is a provider in the delivery of school-based After School Programs within OUSD schools, including at the high school level, where instructors play a critical role in keeping older youth engaged, motivated, and on track toward graduation and beyond.
The Academic Enrichment Instructor will be part of an after-school team dedicated to providing high quality programming to high school-aged youth and their families.
